I have worked on specific projects inside RioBotz. You can learn more at: Battlebots<\/a>, Touro<\/a> and Sumo robots<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riobotz<\/a> is the robotics team of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. Our main focus is developing and competing with combat robots \u2013 the competitions are usually based in the US or in Brazil. We also develop other robots such as line followers, biped, sumo, solar-energy based and self-balanced robots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I joined them in August of 2012 (my freshman year), and in 2013 I became the Coordinator of Mechanics, after quickly learning more about the robots and activities. A while after that, I earned more responsibilities when I became Captain of the team in 2014. Being Captain is an extremely important and essential role in the team. Among my responsabilities were to ensure a cooperative environment among team members, good planning to respect competitions deadlines, communication between the team and Marco Meggiolaro (the professor responsible for the team) and budget allocation. I was responsible for coordinating more than 25 students working on 15 different projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the second semester of 2015, I went to the University of Wisconsin Madison as an exchange student, and because of that I temporarily left the team. Once I came back, I was called to be a part of a selected team within Riobotz to take part in the most important competition we had ever been to: BATTLEBOTS<\/a>. Since then, I still attend Riobotz\u2019s lab and help with counseling and project evaluations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
